Dear international friends,
Recently, pneumonia cases caused by the novel coronavirus have been confirmed in multiple cities in China, including Shenzhen. In response, Shenzhen Municipality is sparing no effort to contain the spread of the virus and safeguard your lives and those of Shenzhen' s residents. Currently, a wide range of preventive and control measures are being rolled out. For your health, we recommend the following practices:
I.Follow official information outlets. Keep rooms clean and well ventilated. Avoid contact with wildlife or poultry. Only eat meat and eggs that are well cooked. A good rest and a healthy diet can reinforce your immune system.
III.Join in our mass preventive and control efforts. If you have been to Hubei Province or other infected areas or had contact with people from these areas over the past 14 days, please report to your employer or your community work station, and note your time of arrival in Shenzhen, the transport you took, your seat number, the areas you have been and people you have had contact with over the past 14 days. Register with Police
If you spend your first days in China at a hotel, they will automatically register your presence, but once you find an apartment, it should be your priority to report to the local police station in the area you will be living within 24 hours of signing your rental contract to register as a resident in the area. You will need to bring a passport size photo, the original and copies of your rental contract, your passport and a photocopy of your landlord1 s ID. The officer at the station will provide you with an accommodation registration paper, which is required to complete the work permit process.
As an alternative to going to the local police, you can register via WeChat by following the steps below:
Scan the following QR code to follow the public account " bdbshenzhen”
Send "派出所"(paichusuo in pinyin) to the public account " bdbshenzhen" and it will direct you to the registration page

Your company should provide you with a form, or the name of the type of exam, and the location of an authorized medical center. You should bring your passport and two passport photos.

This final step can take at least fourteen days to process, during which time you will not have your passport. Remember to keep a photocopy of your passport with you at all times.

Social Security Insurance Card
Your employer is required by law to process your social insurance registration within 30 days of processing your employment permit.
The company1 s insurance clerk needs to go to the Social Insurance Bureau with you to help you apply. You need the following documents to apply for social insurance:
1.Application form with company seal.
2.Foreigner Work Permit and copy with company seal.
3.Passport and copy with company seal

After being registered for social insurance for two months you can apply for a social security card. You need the following documents to apply:

You will need a phone number to get a bank account and to do some other mobile business, but don1 t worry, getting a Chinese SIM card is easy, as long as your phone isn' t locked. All you need to do is take your passport to a shop of one of the major service providers — China Mobile or China Unicom. If you can' t speak or read Chinese, you might want to bring a Chinese-speaking friend to help you choose a plan, but most of the plans are pretty straight forward. If you know the Chinese characters for money and data, it' s pretty easy to understand the various deals just by looking at the numbers. Also, once you have your phone number and account, you can log into the carrier' s website to change your plan. You can also pay your balance or purchase additional data via WeChat.
