Culture Salad is one of Shenzhen's most vibrant and inclusive communities of culture- and language-curious Shenzheners. The meetups are really fun and you will definitely not leave before you've had interesting conversations with at least five new people. Culture Salad is known for holding multilingual language mixes, where every attendee wears a nametag and flag stickers representing the languages they speak and the languages they'd like to practice. At any given Culture Salad meetup, you will find speakers of English, Chinese, French, German, Spanish, Korean, Japanese, Cantonese, Russian and more. Demand for Culture Salad has grown, and in response the club has been expanding its offerings. Now, they hold two to four events per day. They have a dancing meetup almost every morning, a workout session almost every afternoon, and basically every evening there is some sort of casual social or sports meetup. These are all in addition to the regular Wednesday, Friday and Sunday language mixes. There is really no excuse not to get to know people right off the bat in Shenzhen if you go to a Culture Salad event. There's bound to be someone there who shares something in common with you. Culture Salad was started by Grace Fu, who began leading day trips in Shenzhen and Hong Kong in 2017. As her group became a social centerpiece for many of the regular attendees, their interests shifted toward language and culture. In late 2018, Culture Salad was born with a renewed emphasis on providing a " one of a kind cross-language experience " in which every member's culture is valued equally.
