Introduction
Located on Longxiang Boulevard, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, carries on the educational philosophy and academic systems of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. The university has programs in science, engineering and economic management, the humanities and social sciences as well as life and health science. Currently, it has more than 5,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students, and its long term goal is to recruit 11,000 domestic and international students, 7,500 of whom will be undergraduate students, along with 3,500 master' s or PhD students. Featuring an international learning environment, a bilingual teaching pedagogy, a collegiate system, general education courses, multidisciplinary programs and a student-centered educational philosophy, the university stresses the importance of academic exchanges, global perspective and sense of social responsibility. Currently it has concluded agreements with more than 90 prestigious universities to jointly nurture undergraduate and postgraduate students.
The university has also established several institutes and research centers, including Arieh Warshel Institute of Computational Biology, Kobilka Institute of Innovative Drug Discovery, Ciechanover Institute of Precision and Regenerative Medicine, Shenzhen Research Institute of Big Data, and Shenzhen Finance Institute.
