Whenever I' m looking for something unusual, to make a change in my daily life and get an out of the ordinary meal, there is one place that always comes to mind.

Magpie is always a surprise for the eyes as well as the taste buds with their ever changing or should I say transforming menu, their creations are as awesome as the quality of the meat they serve. That is to say way up there with best of the best of what you can find here, and even pretty high quality compared to Europe. They always have something stunning on the menu, and if you' re like me and love tartar, well this is the one of the only places I would take the risk of eating one in the whole Asia area.

They' re a bit out of the way down in OCT Loft, but I couldn' t think of a better place for them to be with the unique style of the surroundings. The fact that it takes a conscious effort for a lazy chef like me to go there makes it important that the whole experience is a hit every single time. It' s not only the staff that makes it for an enjoyable outing, but from the moment you enter to the moment you leave everything is better than you' d expect. As I mentioned with the meats, the cocktails are up there as well, as the fancy glasses and decorations are not the only awesome thing in those drinks, and it is overall an amazingly satisfying experience for the five senses that never gets old. It is the most refreshing in this beautiful city of Shenzhen.
