Geoffrey originally came to Shenzhen almost a decade ago as an English teacher, working for institutions like the Nanshan, Futian and Luohu foreign language schools. He was a runner in both high school and college, sometimes logging hundred-mile weeks. In 2014, however, a new fitness bug bit him: Irfting weights. Over the following years, he slowly transformed his physique, going from 68kg all the way up to 96kg, and multiplying his strength on most lifts. This process was fueled by his burning passion and a relentless quest for knowledge about all tilings diet, nutrition, performance and technique related. He' s since turned to helping other people transform their bodies, working with everyone from competitive athletes to those just looking to get healthier by making small changes in their lives. His articles on fitness have more than 8 million views on Quora (ID: Geoffery Schofield). He believes that your health is your wealth and that there is real value in taking care of yourself.

How did you become an active member of the communities in Shenzhen?
P: I have been an avid member of various Shenzhen communities since arriving in May 2016. I first got involved when I found out about other foreigners doing animal rescue work. Through that, I met the founder of the former Shenzhen event company Love, Shenzhen. Through Love, Shenzhen, I became co-organizer of the Shenzhen Health and Wellness Fair from 2016 to 2018, working closely with Vista-SK International Medical Center and getting to know many of the figures spearheading healthy-living products and services for English-speaking Shenzheners.
